Korean Diaspora marks 70 years in Uzbekistan

The Korean Diaspora marked 70 years of living in Uzbekistan on Saturday. Representatives of national cultural centers, state, non-governmental and international organizations participated in the solemn event held in Tashkent.

Vice Prime Minister Rustam Azimov read the greeting of the President Islam Karimov to the ceremony participants.

Among the guests of the ceremony were State advisor to the President B.Abduhalimov, Vice Prime Minister and chairman of the Women’s committee S.Inamova and Ambassador of South Korean to Uzbekistan Kyong Je-min.

A concert program with participation of national cultural centers was presented at the event.

A number of other events were held in Tashkent to mark the 70 years of ethnic Koreans’ living in Uzbekistan. Those were presentation of books, photo albums, documentaries, exhibitions and sport tournaments.
